Because of trouble with the internet connection we could'nt blog yesterday.
Igår var vi på tre studiebesök. Vi var på två rehabiliteringscenter och på det enda stället i Botswana där de gör utvärderingar på barn kring vilka funktionsnedsättningar de har. De har en väntetid på 2-3 år.
Yesterday we made three study visits. We were at two rehabilitation centers and at the only place in Botswana where they make assessments of children and their disabilities. They have a 2-3 years long waitinglist.
Vi upptäckte att Botswana har otroligt mycket kompetens, men att problematiken framförallt ligger i att hitta samarbete verksamheterna emellan. Chobes representanter har skapat kontakter efter våra besök. En stor problematik ligger även i att de inte har tillräckligt med utbildad personal eller resurser.
We realized that Botswana has a lot of competens, but there is a problem finding cooperations inbetween the different organisations. Chobes representatives has made connections after our study visits. There is also a big problem in finding educated staff and resources.
Efter besöket i Sverige fixade Chobes kommun en utbildning på 5 dagar på ett av rehabiliteringscentren där vårdarna fick utöka sina kunskaper.
After their visit to Sweden Chobes municipality sended their caretakers on a five days long education on one of the rehabilitation centers.
Idag har vi träffat ministeriet och presenterat projektet och kommande utmaningar.
Today we have met the ministary and got to present the project and future challenges.
Vi har även varit på besök på parlamentet och träffat representanterna för arbete med funktionshinderfrågor. Vi fick information om att de ska göra Chobes kommun till en förebild för arbete med personer som lever ned funktionsnedsättningar. De var glada och tacksamma över vårt projekt.
We have also been to a visit at the parlament and met with representatives for work with disability issues. We got the information that they will work towards making Chobe to a rolemodel towards work involving disability issues. They were happy and thankfull for our project.
Vi var även på nationalmuseet och fick se delar av Botswanas historia. Vi avslutade dagen med ett besök på universitetet där de informerade oss om stadsutvecklingen över tid och nuvarande utmaningar.
We also went to the national museum and got to see parts of Botswanas history. We finished our day with a visit to the University where they gave us information about the cityplanning over time and current challenges.
